That woman should be sterilized. People with medical problems like that should NOT be having children.

Imagine microwaving a child. I mean, I've seen people with Epilepsy and it doesn't cause them to do things like that. They seize and black out, but cramming an infant into a microwave oven and punching the buttons sounds a little too involved for someone who's seizing. Just my 2c.

SEIZURES AND BLACKOUTS do NOT cause a woman to go "hmm, I'm hungry. I'm going to put this turkey, which suspiciously looks a lot like my child, into the microwave, turn it on, and go to sleep"

How the FVCK do they not give her the death penalty?

I don't want to appear as if I'm defending this woman, since I don't know enough about the case to know anything more than it truly is a tragedy. However, there was a question posted here that I'd like to answer, just for clarification:

>I would have to wonder though, after she had the baby and could have resumed taking her medication, why didn't she?<

For the same reason the medication couldn't be taken while she was pregnant, it can't be taken while nursing a baby...

Well, perhaps. But for one, there is not mention that she was breastfeeding the baby. And for two, many medications can be resumed when nursing that cannot be taken when pregnant. Also, one must weigh the benefits of nursing and not taking a prohibited drug vs. bottle feeding and not convulsing/dropping/microwaving the baby.

<< Maybe someone should've know better than to buy a microwave big enough to fit a baby in. >>

Next, we will have lawsuits filed against the company for manufacturing a microwave that large.

"The baby said he was cold, so I put him in there. Nowhere was there a warning stating that microwave ovens could cause death."

"I've never seen a microwave kill anything."
"But aren't most things you put in microwaves dead already?"
"Yes, but I've never seen a microwave KILL anything, and there was no warning on the box, or on the unit itself."
