Now this is interesting the U.S. has microwave weapons that proponents believe could stop North Korea from launching missiles by frying their electronics.
The weapons were discussed at an August White House meeting related to North Korea, according to two U.S. officials with direct knowledge.
The microwave weapons, known as CHAMPs, are fitted into an air-launched cruise missile and delivered from B-52 bombers. With a range of 700 miles, they can fly into enemy airspace at low altitude and emit sharp pulses of microwave energy to disable electronic systems.

This how they work....

I hope that those boys wrapped their genitals in tin foil

Um yeah. But you'd need two waves of 'low-flying aircraft". One carrying these "disruptors", and a prior one to drop lots of leaflets saying "Please move your vulnerable ICBM control circuitry to exposed aboveground locations, unprotected by any sort of pesky physical or electrical/electronic shielding. TIA, Uncle Sam Dotard." (Pentagon officials take note: such leaflets should be written in Korean, not English..." ;))

So what would be the frequencies of these microwave and what would be the power needed to fry those electronics?

I thought this is a contingency to disrupt missiles that are in-flight.

According to the first sentence under the second photo:

Advocates say they could be used to stop North Korea from launching missiles by targeting the ground controls and the circuitry in the missiles themselves.

And about two-thirds of the way down the page:
Deptula said he believed the U.S. could use an HPM to disable a ballistic missile on a North Korean launch pad

Just imagine when ICBM nuclear weapons use this technology against countermeasures. Then you have the missiles playing chicken on which one blows its microwave energy load first.

I think that that microwave cannon can actually work. Cavity magnetron or quite amazing in working principle.

Kreosan guys are really wild, fooling around with high voltage dc:

I would not be surprised if the black haired guy ends up with nerve damage.

And Ronald Regan had once envision star war style planetary laser defense system to protect against soviet ICBM. How did that worked out?
