Got this from member attention of fatwallet

"The only thing I found mentionable on bestbuy's "deals" is this scanner. Most other stuff is overpriced or can be bought elswhere cheaper.

Allthough it states that "Price is before: $10.00 mail-in rebate(s)", it did put only $20 in on checkout.
So is it 20$ minus 10$ MIR ??

I think they are decent.. not great.. but $20 w/ free shipping and a $10 rebate can't be beat. You can always return it to the local bestbuy if you don't like it.

No, USB is SLOWER than EPP.
EPP is twice as fast as USB.

The following is the speed order of the 5 slowest:

serial port: 115kbits/s (.115Mbits/s)
standard parallel port: 115kBYTES/s (.115MBYTES/s)
USB: 12Mbits/s (1.5MBYTES/s)
ECP/EPP parallel port: 3MBYTES/s
IDE: 3.3-16.7MBYTES/s

EPP is OK, but a some printers don't like the pass-thru port, and EPP is disappearing on low end computers. Some of those cheapie computers are only USB!
