This monitor is a definitely a HOT deal for $409+tax! Here is a review of it including video footage of it during game play. This monitor may find it's way into my home

man, AT is a great way to keep a poor college student, well...poor :p There goes my summer savings! Thanks for the heads up theshamu. The video footage of that helicopter game actually looked pretty good (I was afraid action games would have problems with ghosting)...since my roommate jumped on that 19" Planar LCD from Dell for $650 a month ago...and that has a lil ghosting for Counterstrike.

Does anyone out there have personal experience with this monitor?

Dude, you need to look for the rebate at the Office Depot site, not Office Max. However, thanks to the original poster, there is now a link to the rebate form. Good job!! Great price on this monitor. I guess I need to hold out a bit longer for a 19", though - Viewsonic VX900 or KDS RAD-9.

Anyone have an idea if this LCD or the Envision EN7100 is better. Staples has it for $579 - $30 Instant savings - $50 MIR = $499. The $50 of $300 coupon gets it to $449. You can probably get $20 more by pricematching CompUSA who has it for $479 ($599 - $50 IS - $20 mfr MIR - $50 Mfr. MIR). All that aside, the price is close enough.

Opinions?

Thanks to you, theshamu. I've got a ton more desk space now, the native resolution on this baby has given me loads more viewing area. And I can read it too. Great price and a great deal. Thanks a bunch! :D

Over at the bigwallet rumor has it that the rebate is for instore purchase only according to someone who called csr and asked to verify? Has anyone else confirmed this yet? If so, can someone buy this for me as there is no OD near me.

It should work for online purchases -- I've had situations like this before, when in-store specials are not necessarily shown up on OD's web site. In each case, the rebate worked out OK.

I ordered online and specified pickup at my local store. Picked it up, and I'm using it now. They would have delivered it next day for free, but I was afraid no one would be home when they got here. It's a legit deal. Worked for me.

No OD in Cleveland? They'll deliver any purchase over $50 for free. Check the website for how far they'll go.

I was wondering the same thing. The $50 difference would be negligible if the picture quality is better. From what I can tell though, there's not really any difference in the specs for these two monitors.

I'm really happy with it. I'm running at the native resolution of 1280 x 1024. The text is sharp and crisp. I do need to fuss with the resolution some because smaller text is a little difficult to read with my middle aged eyes. This is not a fault with the monitor, just my eyes. I'm not a gamer. so I can't give any opinions in that regard.

I've been waiting for a good deal on a 17" LCD and jumped on this when I saw it here. I was using a 19" Samsung SyncMaster 900P, and I feel that this is actually better. I need to play around some with the color settings as the color reproduction is not the same. Not really a surprise there.

Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase.

Is this an analog input only LCD, or does it have a digital input connector also?

does anyone have a zip where this is in stock?

edit: I guess it doesn't matter if I find a zip that has it in stock? I found one added it to my cart and tried to check out and it pulled it out of mt cart. Wasn't there a way to do this before?
