An OS that just keeps updating forever is a pipe dream.
Should Microsoft support Athlon Xp and Pentium M in 2025? Eventually you have to start over, when HW or SW demand changes that current architecture can't reasonably support.
 
They told me they would support their free OS for the life of my device. My device will be in use until 2030. I'm quit upset about this and I will send a strongly worded email to Microsoft explaining my discontent.
 
Having 10 on us until 2025 is better than, say, windows me being thrust upon us for the better part of a decade. Couldn't you just imagine trying to run me for 10 years? LOL That was one of the most unstable os's I've ever run especially since they neutered driver support on the installation disc. I really like how the modern installation is able to acquire the most current updates during the process to insure that you're getting the most up to date files to begin with.
 
The fun part of this is that all of us are going to get/upgrade to whatever the newer version of Windows is. So....why debating from now for the year 2025 since by 2020 you will run something newer than Windows 10 (Windows 10.1, or 10-x, or something) on your computer?

I lately had a discussion about how that is going to work out for productivity.
Touch screen alike is only handy when you are querying a database. Not when you have to input data.
Design and programming is still going to be a keyboard and a mouse or other input device. No voice dictating there or touch screen. Resolution is too low.

Imagine voice dictating a c program or .net or c#.
Or voice dictating a schematic and a pcb.
I know that some tools are already automatic and autonomous but it still needs human supervising and "touch up".
