text should read:

Welcome to a sneak peek of MSN's new search technology

What do we have under the hood? A rehashed algorithmic search engine -- all copied right down to the code comments -- from Google technology yet amazingly we can't get it to work. Give it a spin and tell us if you know how to fix it.

This site will be available for a short time. After we have time to finish stealing some features it'll be back, still broken but with some subtle visual modification.

it took 30 seconds to find 1 result on the word `ice`. The only way this would be a google killer is if it loaded a virus on your computer which blocks access to google.com

First off where does it say that this is THE google-killer that MS has been rumored to be developing?

Secondly this is certainly a very early beta of whatever it is...

I think the topic is a bit misleading here.

A few details about this stage of the preview

? There are currently about 1 billion Web pages in the index (this number will grow quickly).

? You may find the site slow at times. You might also notice incomplete or missing features, or results that are inappropriate for your search; if you notice problems, please tell us what went wrong.

? The software supplied in this preview is not formally supported and Microsoft does not provide technical assistance for it.

Worked for me, but it was very slow, came up with a lot more repetitive hits than Google or Yahoo (e.g., half the hits in the first 90 would be similar pages all from the same site), and--worst of all--my pages weren't as close to the top as they are in Google and Yahoo.

Think it needs some more work before it's ready for prime-time.

hahaha Micro$oft sucks... you would think with their 8 hour interviews, that they would hire competent developers...

Wow, google had better watch out. This technology is far in advance of theirs -- it's irrelevant before it even gets out of beta whereas Google has taken 5 (?) years to begin their decline.
