Newegg is running a "Black November" special on Microsoft peripherals. Of interest to some may be the Xbox controller for windows, which works in both windows and on the xbox. This is a 2-day coupon (through Friday), and takes 15% off: BLKNOVMSF

Here they are:

The wireless controller is $40AC and comes with the wireless USB dongle.

The wired controller is $29AC. Both have free shipping.

The wired Xbox controller can be used directly into a PC right?

Both the wired and wireless can be directly connected to a PC. The difference is that the wireless version uses a USB wireless transmitter. I have one and have used it successfully on two W7 computers. It is detected automatically by Windows.

I ordered a wired 360 controller from pc on amazon.com a day before for $28.99 I believe...so same deal. Used amazon prime free 2 day shipping.

^ you must have bought the last one 🙂 . Amazon's wired price is $29, but currently with "1 to 3 weeks" for shipping, so ice cold compared to newegg. In-stock price from third-party sellers is $40 + shipping, no Prime.

Wireless with USB receiver is in stock at Amazon, but is $45.

I hope someone can help me out as I know nothing about the xbox controllers.

Can more than one controller be connect to a single wireless receiver, I think from my searches, it is up to four, correct?

Also, we have two PCs in the same room, would there be interference if I set up each PC with it's own receiver and controller?

I would recommend you go with a wired controller for 1 of the pc's to be on the safe side.

That and Newegg has some reviews up saying the receiver had died on them after a while. Also you can't turn off the controller once it's on. The only way is to pull the batteries.

Just a tip - if you're considering this for a game like BF3, in which you won't be using the controller consistently, consider getting the wired version. The wireless one has an auto-shutoff feature, which is nice except when you pick up the controller 30 minutes into a game to fly a plane.

I didn't actually buy the bundle - I already had an xbox controller (for my xbox) and bought the wireless adapter after the fact. If I were just buying this exclusively for a PC that I was sitting next to, I'd get a wired version. I originally bought the wireless adapter for couch-playing on my HTPC and am only using it on my gaming PC because my joystick does not work in BF3.
