Nice find... :)

Edit:

Here the direct link to the shop.microsoft page for it.. Looks like it still uses a red LED, just has a blue outer shell now.

Wow I like that, I may have to blow a lot of money on a mouse, but what gives still a RED LED?! You would think they could use a BLUE one for your $45.

Don't they use red still because of the high contrast which is supposed to give better "reception"?

Anyways I don't think it looks that good, besides I need the 5 buttons my IntelliMouse Explorer 3 gives me :D

yeah, I saw a graph a little while ago when I was modding my mouse to have a Blue LED, that the red LEDs could pick up the contrast much better than the blues...sad, but it's true :(

i wonder how many batteries this one eats? MS should just charge $60 and include the mouse and 4 NiMH cells and charger in the box.

I know it says wireless, but I could swear the picture on the box has a cord coming out the top of the mouse.

would'nt infra-red be even better, we would'nt see it then... Or maybe there would be a heat issue or something... Next step would be modded mice with fans!!

It looks nice, but isn't going to match most of our black/silver themes that a majority of us use. Wait, I sound like a mac user.......grrrrrr ;)

I am waiting for the (Edit:) wired one.

Also does anyone know about health issues with Bluetooth? I looked into 802.11b before buying my access point and card.

Hold on here, infra red gives off heat? Did I miss something?

As far as the mouse goes, I see they "stole" the idea of the clear mouse wheel from metku here

All the better for those unwilling to do the modding though!
