How does this compare to the MX1000 from Logitech? I have the intellimouse explorer (corded) 3.0 and it's still a great mouse. Cord is ticking me off, though. $8 for a wireless equivalent sounds great to me...

Got me some yesterday, not much left at the store, had to go to two Staples to get 3 mice. Great for $8 after only $5 rebate. Will work for cheap gifts around the office.
You can't go wrong with it for the price.

I'll have to cruise over at lunch. I'm not a fan of wireless peripherals, but I'll give one a shot.

I know this is B&M only but how likely is it that Staples will honor the deal over the phone? I don't have a local staples but the price is sure right.

Yeah. I grabbed the last one last night. Store told me they might be receiving more later this week since their delivery trucks come on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I'll have to check back for more.

While I haven't compared this with a MX 1000, I have compared it with an MX 700. While the Logitech edges out the Microsoft mouse in terms of speed and accuracy, the Microsoft one is great for everyday use, and if you aren't a hardcore gamer, it still provides a smooth gaming experience. BTW, at that price it is a steal.

Since I don't have the MX1000, I can't compare the two. What you can do is buy it and if you don't like it, just return it. But from what I've read on the MX1000, it seems to be a much better mouse for gaming and may be more responsive. For day to day use, there's probably not much of a difference aside from the price -- $70 for the MX1000 and $8 for the MS Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer.

Dude. These things are out of stock at nearly every southern california store. I called everything from san diego to north OC and everyone is out. Looks like i'm going to be getting an MX1000 after all...

Went to staples, found the mouse. Not sure if it the same. It is Microsoft. Intel Explorer. (Silver in color). Said 29.98 at shelf. Rang up as 12.50. No mention of rebate, however.

I have the immersion.

Do any of you guys have any problems with the scroll wheel?

Mine stops working sometimes. The mechanical parts under the wheel seem to stop spinning and is only fixed when i press down on the wheel hard.

I have the immersion which i got about a month ago for 30 with a 5 dollar rebate. So this is an awesome deal if you can find them.
I game a lot and it does a good job imo. I havent had problems with lag or innaccuracy. I play cs and other mp games and have no problems.
Scoll wheel is smooth so its hard to switch weapons without going through them to fast. But I dont use that anyway. For web pages its great though.

Checked a few Staples today in Central Florida, their deliveries came in and none of them received any in shipment. Too bad, great mouse for the price.

I cleared out my local staples at 10am. I didn't get any extra rebates but at $12 this was a great deal. That first rebate though required the entire box top. Owells...that one is mine I guess :)
