Microsoft wireless comfort keyboard problem

Does anyone have this keyboard and use it for gaming? I've been playing games and using the "W" to move forward and it cuts off after pressing it for a couple of seconds. I think its to save the battery life. I was wondering if there was some sofware fix for this, since i also have a wireless joystick from logitech that turn off after a while of inactivity, but with a download you can disable that.

I have the exact same problem. I bought this keyboard as part of a 3-pack OEM and the other two keyboards are having the exact same problem.

I came to the conclusion it was a result of the wireless base station receiving too many commands at once. I've tried installing the latest version of the Intelli* software, but have had no joy.

I'd really like to see this problem fixed, Microsoft!

I'm not sure how you guys have it set up, but I've been having problems with this keyboard, the same types of problems, and cursing it for about 6 months, and I just realized this:

The keyboard and the mouse are both "carried" on the USB cable. There is no need to plug in the keyboard (PS2) cable. As a matter of fact, having both cables plugged in was the source of my misery. But maybe I'm the only idiot out there that thought they both had to be plugged in. Heh.

I'll certainly give this a try as soon as I get home thisafternoon. I called up a friend, who bought the same keyboard and had him try it with just the USB plug in. He claimed the keyboard performed better, but he still experienced some drop-outs.

That seemed to have very little effect, if any.
