I can understand why you don't like McAfee. I had a bad run in with them, granted that was years ago. Apparently their software was not compatible with an old Gateway machine I had (this was in 97 I think). Basically, with the McAfee A/V running, my system would lock up within 5 minutes of booting. Gateway knew about it and recommended against using it. I switched to Norton and haven't gone back. It also helps that I can get Norton A/V corporate thru my school for free (especially good since I've graduated and can still get it). This is personal machine not a corporate network.
Two companies I've worked for use InoculateIT. Other than the latest virii (i.e. Nimda on the day it came out), its done a good job of blocking everything. My biggest complaint about it is more policy oriented than technology oriented. Our IT dept has it set to run a full scan at a certain day/time and we (the users) cannot change it. The problem is, its right in the middle of the day. And full scans take up a lot of CPU/Disk resources. BTW, company one was somewhat small, around 90 people. Company two is very large.
