Not on the latest blu-ray that I rented. Jumping straight to the top menu was disabled and the fastest way I could find to get through it is to wait for the trailer to start and tell it to skip to the next track. (repeat for the next two trailer). It wasn't 45 minutes but it was a good 15 seconds of annoyance.

WTFever. Sure, it does look nice compared to DVD, but it's still a lot more compressed and "artifacty" than a blu-ray would be....and yeah, buffering sucks. Lots of consumer bandwidth improvements are still needed.

Also, it really would be nice to eliminate these multiple discs for large games (Mass Effect 2 being another one).

For anyone who actually cares about video and audio quality, physical media is going to reign supreme for a good while. Streaming I reserve for things I just don't care about in terms of overall quality, but most movies, I want that audio quality. <500kbps AC3 Surround audio stream is a nice step up from stereo, but still pales in comparison to multi-megabit lossless audio codecs. And that's not even comparing the amount of video compression necessary to enable 1080p streaming. So, you might not be able to tell the difference between 20mbps AVC and 15mbps AVC/other advanced codec - but I guarantee I can spot the difference between that 20mbps stream and some 5mbps stream (what is the video bitrate common in most streams these days? not even sure, I know it's low though). That is... unless you are sitting 10ft from a 32" or smaller screen, in which case, that difference won't be noticeable on the video side of things, but most certainly still noticeable in audio quality.

BD might never reach massive sales on a regular basis, but it won't be going anywhere soon.

Get up, head to kitchen and grab soda/beer. Come back. 15 seconds over, movie time.

I think pretty much everyone on this forum grew up/lived with VHS right? Remember fast-forwarding through all the previews and having to wait several minutes? And now you're bitching over 15 seconds? I'd say 15 seconds is progress.

Microsoft botched this gaming generation towards the end. Kinect is the last nail in the coffin.

While Kinect may just be another bandwagon gimmick, and it's unfortunate they still refuse to add blu-ray capability with the latest refresh, there's hardly any coffin or nails regarding the 360. It and Live have both been hugely successful, no way around it.

No, no you don't. If it were true bluray quality, people wouldn't buy blurays. Streaming is a long ways away from being good enough for me to use. And I bought a PS3 for that reason. You fail, M$.

Who wants to pay $6 to rent streams of crap movies on XBL when with Netflix for $10 a month I get Blu-ray discs day one and can still stream the crappy old movies if I want.

It has been a comedy of errors on their part and had they not had a 1 year lead on the PS3 and Wii, they would have been in serious trouble. Issues:

1. RROD issues and covering them up.
2. Bad DVD drives in many units.
3. Released external HD-DVD drive. Funny how that was the "future" then but now magically, physical hi-def media is being "passed over," isn't it?
4. Overpriced accessories.
5. Kinect.
6. Raising the price of Live.
7. Requiring Live for Netflix? Ridiculous.

I highly doubt I will buy the next Xbox after the gouging, dishonesty, and outright stupidity Microsoft has displayed with the 360.

I wish my PS3 did not have BR, or any spinning media device for that matter. I've had to have mine repaired twice because the BR drive has died .
