Since they killed Sidewinder...Go Logitech!
The only thing I prefer over others (including Logitech) is the Trackball Explorer.

Logitech breaks so easily...

i had two blue internet scroll mice die on me... POS...
the first one.. the cable got loose or something.. and it kept losing connection with my comp..

second one that recently died again... the right mouse button spontaneously died while i was playing a game....

Same thing with 2 Intellimouse Opticals, here. One scroll wheel, one loose cable.

I had two sets of the Logitech Cordless Freedom Elite... both broke within a couple months.

My MS mice seem to be holding up pretty well - as well as my natural keyboard.

just to throw something else into the mix:

As far as plain, non-ergonomic keyboards go IBM makes the best ones hands down. I typically wear the labels of the ASDW keys on these - all others I've had don't last that long.

I'm using an MS ergonomic here at work, but at home for gaming I always use those black IBM's.

I have a Logitech Elite KB and love it. But I use also have an MX500 that, thanks to crappy Logitech drivers, doesn't work properly in a lot of games (especially the scroll wheel). So now it sits unused in a drawer while I use a MS Intellimouse Explorer. So basically, it depends on the the device for me... I'll use whatever works best and suits my needs.

so sad... Logitech drivers were always fine for me except with my new gamepad, it kept skipping in games or some reason when i used it, but then a new driver came out and they fixed it i guess.

Damn..You talking about the blue optical mouse? I've had mine for like ever and have never had any trouble with it. Love it for gaming.

i have the same mouse. sometimes it goes crazy and runs the pointer to the corner, like when im playing counter strike, i just stand there and make like a 1080 degree turn for no reason, then other people wonder what i'm smoking

of course, it can be the dell mouse pad. i dunno

I have a Microsoft Office Keyboard Special Edition (black in color, bundled with the wireless optical intellimouse explorer).
I love that keyboard. It's by far the nicest keyboard I've typed on. Keys are big but not too big (and I've got small hands). Good spacing. Plenty of programmable function keys, scroll wheel, etc. Has an oversized Delete key, and second Backspace and Tab keys in the numeric keypad. The "logout" key is nice, too. I've got it configured to instantly fire-up the password-protected screen saver, so I can step away and secure the machine with one button.

The cordless optical Intellimouse Explorer is OK. Nice shape and feel. Accurate. But when it sits idle for a minute or two, it goes into some kind of power-saving mode, and it takes a bit of a giggle to wake it back up, otherwise it'll miss the first half-second motion and will mistrack. Personally, I prefer my Logitech MX-300 when it comes to mice.

Addendum to above -

I'm quite pleased with my Logitech Z-560 speakers. Does Microsoft even make speakers anymore? I know at one point they had a set of USB speakers.

I by far like Logitech Mice better, just got an MX500 and am loving it vs my old 2nd gen Logitech mouse, I've also used all 3 versions of MS's explorers and just don't like the erganomics as much as the Logitech's. When it comes to keyboards it's Microsoft all the way though, I have 6 of the Orginal Microsoft Natural Keyboards since they stoped making them I stocked up on them since I tend to wear them out after a couple years, I don't really need all the extra buttons on the newer versions and I hate the new "F lock" option on their newer Natural keyboards. Thats Just my 2 cents.... 🙂

Both companies make decent products.
Honestly though, wouldn't a better title for this thread be:

"Does anyone here actually mind giving Bill Gates more money? Or should we spread the wealth?"

I say spread the wealth!!

Pretty tough to beat the MX500 or MX700 for mice at the moment (IMO)

I have no preference on keyboards, but my present are cheapie Logitech Access cordless.... do the job fine.

I'm just trying to figure out what a giggle is, and what states it is illegal in 😉

You know... you have to stare and laugh at the mouse for a second or two before it'll respond again. It's got sensitive feelings, I guess. 😉

Giggle, jiggle... tomAYto, toMAHto...

At least it's legal in Michigan 🙂
