How can I get this on a new installed windows xp machine. The ms website says they do not give this out anymore searched the web no luck ! half my websites will not load any help/answers..
thanks...

That's great, but then there are some sites that don't seem to be able to use Sun's JRE.

Is the MS JVM still available for download? If not, does anyone have the installation files for it? I need it for XP Pro.

Thanks

If the site won't run on Sun's java, someone can't code right. Sun invented the JAVA standard

The sites are MADE for virtual machine, Suns Java app dose not work for me either and I'm starting to get VERY upset that microsoft pulled VM, what the hell were they thinking anyway?

I found a place to download the very last version. If anyone needs it, PM me and I'll upload it via AIM or MSN messenger.

I tried using Sun's JRE for a while and I got fed up with it loading a new JRE for EVERY browser applet (which is just about every other ad) and putting one of those stupid "Java" icons in my system tray. Aside from that, the JRE was HORRENDOUSLY SLOW compared to Microsoft's...

Who cares?

99% of people out there just want it to work.

Whether it's Microsoft's or Sun's VM is irrelevant to most people.

Exactly, I was recommended to download Java's JRE 1.4 and now everytime I load a site that uses applets a stupid systray icon pops up everytime hogging up resources for every applet it uses on every IE that is up!

Why did Sun decide to do that? In my opinion, that's not very smart programming! :|

Exactly BDog I can't agree with you more!
