Microsoft to use cryptoware to force Windows 10 on people

Seriously, why not, they even tricked people by changing the Red X, might as well go full crook with it. :sneaky:

"If you would like to downgrade back to Windows 7, please send $200 in bitcoins to 1HB5XMLmzFVj8ALj6mfBsbifRoD4miY36v Thank you!"

It's hilarious how desperate MS is at pushing that spyware on people. It's kinda hard to deny it's malicious when they are pushing so hard for people to be on it. It's free, it's not like they're trying to convince people to buy a product. It's free for the same reason as Google products and Facebook, you are the product.

It is trivially easy to prevent Windows 10 from installing. If you can't be bothered to know enough about your computer to prevent the upgrade from happening I have no sympathy for you.

There's an OS forum over there ---> with a thread just like this.

But M$ can suck a fat, long dick! They now have turned their customer into the product. Won't see me using 10 anytime soon. And at that it will be just for gaming. By the time I do use 10, I'm sure there will be more anti-telemetry Apps out there to run in 10.

Can your mom do it without your help?

This. The problem with MS doing this, is that it will catch lot of people off guard.

Then it's people like us who are stuck going over to fix it.

Also, spying aside, windows 10's GUI is garbage, that on it's own is enough to turn me away from it, at least the spying can be fixed with proper outgoing firewall rules right at the gateway. This whole fuzzy gray text on white idea is retarded. Everything is so big too, even at 1920x1080 some dialogs fill the whole screen.

8 is even worse, but that OS is not even worth talking about, kinda like ME. 😛

What are you on about? I don't have any fuzzy text nor any dialogs that fill the screen on any of my Win 10 systems.

They can fuq the hell off... No interest in learning to use Windows 10 or messing with a completely stable config.

Is there a link to some article that I'm missing here?

Are you unable to say no?

Classic shell is your friend as with a few minor tweaks you can get it looking just like win 7 / xp if you want and I am not sure about fuzzy text as I never saw it.

The spying is easy to disable in about 5 minutes when you upgrade and I enjoy the extra speed and stability is provides over previous ones.

I just wish they stopped updating win 7 and 8 immediately at all and this will do two things for them by less spending on outdated os's and stop people complaining about them switching over to win 10.

Maybe it will get better once the free to upgrade date rolls by and they announce they only support win 10 now since everyone should have it. 😉

Just another article of people making something out of nothing. It's over in the Win10 hate section. I mean "Operating Systems".

Basically, idiots not reading the message boxes and then getting mad when their computer did exactly what their computer said it would do.

RedX means close. If you read the dialog box you would understand that Microsoft was warning you that windows 10 is now a recommended upgrade and will be installed unless action is taken. Luckily I have configured my computer to not install recommended upgrades automatically so I can manually look at what's being installed in my computer.

I don't mind Windows 10, especially as a free upgrade from Windows 8. Properly tweaked out, it's not too bad - my only real complaint is lack of ability to truly control system updates. Win7 machines get slapped with Never10 tho, screw that 😀

I just finally upgraded when I bought a new Skylake system... was waiting to bind my key to a new mobo. Also when I went to install Win 7, it wanted drivers for the new board and it was a hassle to work around in my case.

I said screw it and gave 10 a shot now that you can use a Win 7 key. No complaints so far... just made sure I turned off any privacy settings I wasn't cool with. Had a Win 7 pro key and it installed Win 10 pro with no hassles... was kind of nice. Automatically found drivers for my motherboard too.

Only complaint is that it didn't pull the latest GeForce drivers but not hard to fix.

Gonna' need it for DX12 anyway, right? Gonna' have to live with what comes afterwards sooner or later...

I'm okay with Windows 10 at home, it's a nice little OS...especially since the 1115 fixes that resolved a LOT of the issues I was having.

Win 10 pro here it works great.
I think that anyone that concerned about it spying on you better not use any google services or any android device or an iPhone or any IOS devices.
