I think it's funny that people think that nobody uses Apple computer because thy only have 5% market share. In a nation with 100 million computer users, that's 5,000,000 Macintoshes.

That number continues to dwindle though. I predict 1% market share by 2006, and Apple being relagated to being a full-time music service by 2010.

No it hasn't. It's been slowly dropping ever since MS began making more stable OS's and since the processing speed gap between Macs and PCs has begun to become so far apart.

Final Cut Pro will see an x86 version. I can FEEL it. And as soon as that happens, you'll hear Apple's death knell.

While FCP is nice, I can work just as well with something like Vegas Video 4.0b or Avid Xpress 3.5. FCP isn't the be all, end all for video editing. Besides, it is made by Apple isn't it? It'll never see the light of day on a PC.

I dunno. I say that half-kidding, but at the same time, with the number of screw ups that Apple has had in their history, I could see them at a board meeting...

Jobs: "You know how much money we could make if we sold a version of Final Cut Pro on PC?"
Some random intern: "Won't that kill our company?"
Jobs: "SILENCE, NONBELIEVER!"

Make that 7. The 4 guys in Multimedia Publishing here use Macs. What's sad is that the state system is setup so that they have to use IE to fill out their timesheets, and because IT had us all update to 5.5 they have to load up a Windows emulator to do it. How messed up is that?


P.S. Apple will never be as well-bought as any of the other companies until they make a product that's nearly as cheap to get as most of us can build custom systems for
 
What's interesting about this is the reason MS is reportedly pulling the plug on IE for Mac. IE will no long be a stand alone program. Which, I assume, means it will be built into Windows. Which brings back memories of that whole anti-trust stuff that we might remember from a few years back...

And a quick blurb about market share... Market share shows the percentage of people who purcahsed a product, in the case a Mac, w/in a given time period. The percentage of Mac users is closer to 10% or 11%.

And again and again and again, Apple is a hardware company; they're losing money on nearly all of their software. FCP for the PC would hurt them so much, that any additional money it took in would seem like pennies on the dollar.

According to the rumors I've read, it will be part of MSN, not windows.
 
Heh, Mac cant live forever. I've never had a BSOD with Windows XP and my nforce2 mobo. Looks like microsoft did something right 😛
