Microsoft testing surface phone?

Sounds good to me. I'm about 50/50 on if I think they're gonna go a Nexus 4 pricing strategy or a more traditional one. They do have an ecosystem they need people to get into but they're still Microsoft and seem to have trouble seeing an opportunity even when smacked in the face by one.

It's not a Surface phone, but their own phone hardware running Windows phone 8 OS (not RT). It's the newest version/evolution of the windows phone 7 OS. like the surface in the tablet market, this will be their first foray into the phone hardware platform

And who's to say that it won't be called the Surface phone? When a person says 'Surface phone' that is what they mean, a MS made, WP8 running device.

Yep. It boggles my mind they weren't more aggressive on price. They need people to buy into their mobile ecosystem before it is too late. That is actually the genius part about tying the ecosystem with Windows, the question being whether it will be enough or not.
