thoughts?

Heh....looks like another application of the multitouch technology we saw in that video a few months back as well as on the iPhone. Pretty neat though, with both MS and Apple getting behind these multitouch displays, it's hard to imagine it not being the way of the future.

I have seen this before somewhere. Not microsoft's version, but some other guy's. He built and presented it himself, it was like a large touchscreen monitor, or large projection that recognized his gestures and movement...... or something.

His was better, from what i gather. It seems like MS is using a camera, whereas his and Apple's are using digitizers. I don't know much about the underlying technology but it seems like digitizers are a better idea only because they can be applied to more mobile applications and thinner devices.

This has been out for years (that I've known about it), but hopefully MS will make it cheap. Neat technology.

Until they say it's going to be on my desk for a few hundreds...meh. But I guess I have something else to tinker while waiting for orders at restaurants.

I think most people responded with a, "wow, that's pretty cool...and it's from Microsoft <head explodes>"
