That's a pretty good price. I bought MS S&T 2005 w/ GPS for $125+ back a few months ago (well almost a year ago). This is pretty cool to go along with it if you have a laptop with bluetooth.

IMO, $99 for the bluetooth dock is too steep when a bluetooth GPS receiver can be had for less than that.
Aside than that, $80 for USB GPS & ST2006 is HOT!

you are better off getting Iguidance 2.1.2 DVD abd BT receiver or GArmin GPS 10 deluxe...both work with laptop

I have the gps 10..very nice with my PDA....bought it at buy.com for $190 shipped

excellent place to buy gps items..excellent CS
Maybe that's why the MS product isn't as expensive. Not everyone wants to spend $200 for this type of functionality. I'd rather pay $80 for a functional and decent product than $200 for a functional and great product any day of the week (when it comes to this anyway).Originally posted by: nealh
sorry MS streets and trips is not even close to how good these products are...just go to gpspassions

if you expect this to be a good gps receiver I doubt it...in addition I will bet the voice guidance software is nowhere up to Garmin or Iguidance
Garmin,FYI has 6 million POIs!!!

Well put. GPS quality does play a big factor into the end-user experience (didn't really give that any thought myself). The good thing here is that price does exhibit quality. You pay for what you get.Originally posted by: nealh

But the problem is MS product has in the past been a big disappointment for navigation use but most who have it....
I can not comment on MS Street and Trips 2006 for sure but I have not heard it is a big improvement
Also most of the cost is the receiver...I would bet big $$ that the GPS receiver is not very good..no way it could be as a part of an $80 package
the best overall GPS receiver is the Globalstat BT 338..it will many cases mantain a satellite in a building and in downtown area
The Garmin GPS10 is good but not as good as the BT 338 with the SIRF III chipset..but I love the IQue software and it is features..I am going to Chicago and will see how the GPS 10 works

Actually.. the receiver is excellent. The MS software is not good for driving GPS navigation.. However, the software is excellent for planning and finding directions beforehand.

I read this review: http://www.gpspassion.com/fr/articles.asp?id=137&page=3 and it seems that MS S&T is very usable (in it's current version) for GPS navigation. Why did you say that it is not good for GPS navigation?

People, I use this software every day for work, and it's decent for what it does. It's not the best ever, but for $80, you CANNOT beat the deal. I like the Delorme Street Atlas 2006 software better for in car navigation. It is A LOT better at automatically rerouting you if you take a wrong turn or want to go a different way than what it initally recommends. It also shows your next 2 turns instead of MS S&T that just shows your next turn.
I'd pick this up for $80 to see if you like it, and if you don't, you still got a heck of a deal on a USB gps receiver that you can use with other software.

Where do you put the laptop if someone is sitting on the passenger seat?
