Not bad, just keep in mind that this is last year's version. The new version has a GPS locator that's supposedly 10 times more sensitive. I almost bit before I realized that this was the 2006 edition. Still, a good deal!

Best Buy has the 2007 version on sale this week for $100. If the 2007 version truly has a more sensitive receiver, then maybe it's worth the extra $25.

Nice find on this version though. I almost bought it at this price a couple months ago, but couldn't justify it.

I had decided to pull the plug on this one if it came to $75, but now after reading about the 2007 version, I am sceptical.

I have the 2005 version with the GPS locator. Works awesome. We used it when we went on vacation up in the mountains. It was a huge help finding the mountain house on winding roads.

from what i have read on gps sites, if the 2006 was made after may then you got the receiver based on the better chipset so you may end up with a receiver that is equal to the 2007 model.

either way, i just did a road trip with the gps receiver from 2005 which i believe is based on the sirf chipset (instead of the sirfIII chipset) and it was more than accurate enough in very tight quarters in southern california. i did lose signal every so often near beverly hills/la due to the buildings, but not too bad.

too bad there is no way to know which receiver you are going to get.....
