Microsoft Store

I can get things in that for a little while.

They're pretty limited on games - mainly Forza Horizon, Halo Wars 2, and Gears of War 4.

Even the discount doesn't leave them cheap - $30 base game, $50 for 'ultimate' version.

Not too tempting - but the Forza game sounds like my kind of game. I don't like driving games much but loved Burnout Paradise with its varied environments which this sounds similar to.

I guess a spare copy of Windows 10 Pro for $35 might be a good deal just to get for the sake of it. Hm.

Download the demo of Forza and see if you like it. Seems OK to me, though I am not really into driving games.

Ori and the Blind Forest is a fun platformer. Minecraft if you are into that.

They have sales occasionally.

$35 Pro is most likely a volume license which can go unactivated at any moment.

I have Ori already; doubt I'd like Minecraft; what do you mean about the Window license?

The $35 is just the employee pricing / discount. As far as comparing Forza to Burnout Paradise, I did not find them the same. I loved BP but couldn't play more than an hour of Forza. BP is more arcade like if you ask me, and that's my preference. Forza leans more towards realism, although still arcade.

Well, I'm not really finding anything to buy in the store then.

Forza Horizon is fantastic if you enjoy collecting cars and driving on your own terms; you can drive just about anywhere where as in BP there was limited space in which your car could travel. Both games are great if you ask me, much better than the late NFS games, but I've never played FH3 on PC, or Gears 4 for that matter. I did like Gears on Xbox One though, despite the rather short campaign and tedious horde mode.

If you are buying it off some random website for $35 then it is most likely a volume license version that needs to contact a kms server periodically to stay active (which you wouldn't have access to). If you are getting it from someplace legitimate then don't worry about it.

This is from the official Microsoft website.

the store is a joke unless u absolutely want to get microsoft exclusives like halo and gears of war.

otherwise your best off going on steam, origin or some other online distributor.
