Microsoft sidewinder mod question...

Well I have the Razor Tarantula keyboard & all of the leds are blue but the Microsoft Sidewinder's leds are red. Has anyone opened up the mouse & replaced the leds? If not... does anyone know how & i'll be the guinni pig?

I had a logitech mouse with a red led and I replaced it with a high output blue led from radio shack.
It looked nice,but it pretty much killed the mouses tracking.I guess the sensors in the mouse track red better than blue.
