This also includes no longer selling any games they publish (like Fable 3).

FAQ:
http://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/pc-games/pc-marketplace-closing

This part I do not like:
"Will I be able to purchase Games for Windows Live games in other marketplaces now that Games for Windows Live titles are no longer available on Xbox.com?

Games for Windows Live titles published by Microsoft are no longer available for purchase from any marketplace. For other titles, please check directly with the title’s publishers."

Shit...now I need to scramble for a copy of Fable 3.

Games you will no longer be able to buy, anywhere:

Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs
Microsoft Flight Simulator

Microsoft Flight Simulator
Zoo Tycoon 2: Marine Mania
Zoo Tycoon 2: Zookeeper Collection
Age of Empires III: Gold Edition
Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties
Gears of War
Halo 2 for Windows Vista
Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Acceleration
Shadowrun
Viva Piñata for Windows
Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals
Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Gold Edition
Zoo Tycoon 2: Ultimate Collection
Where’s Waldo? The Fantastic Journey
Age of Empires III: Complete Collection
Microsoft Tinker
CarneyVale: Showtime
Game Room
Age of Empires Online
Fable III
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
Iron Brigade
Microsoft Flight
Toy Soldiers
Ms. Splosion Man

This is why the XBoners shouldn't trust MS's cloud services and products. Good thing real gamers got the XBone changed, it could have been disastrous!

I was hoping they'd give us a tool (officially) to remove GFWL from existing games. Oh well...

Where is there a list of games you won't be able to buy after it closes?

I clicked on PC Games for sale and there are a lot of titles you can get other places.

I'm just going by what the FAQ states, which is this:

You can get some of those games on Steam now, like Toy Soldiers and AOE 3 (complete edition has everything, so probably same as 'gold'). Can't get them anywhere? Highly doubtful.

Another aspect to kicking GFWL to the curb, is older games now have achievements on Steam. Batman Arkham Asylum for example, which used to only have GFWL achievements, now has Steam achievements. They don't unlock yet, but the word is that they will after the 22nd.

I think I own 2 games from that, one was free and the other was like $.20. Think one was the AE3 base.

Now, sure, but they could be pulled if Microsoft speaks the truth.

Pfft whatever MS, scaremongers. Good riddance.

Half those games will probably show up on steam at some point.

Sure, because Sony and Nintendo never did anything to prevent games from working on later platforms. Sony and Microsoft are about equal in that sense. I'm so glad I can carry all my PSN software over to PS4...oh wait....

The bottom line is that gaming has changed and access isn't guaranteed in perpetuity. That goes for all companies. Anyone who thinks one company is safer than another in that regard is misguided.

I wouldn't call MS and Sony equals. MS hasn't included root kits on their DVDs yet.
