Page didn't open for me. But either way I think that sort of pirating should take a lot more years than that in the slammer. I think their funds should be taken away and given to charity 😛

Microsoft is a big brand name that is nationally recognized. For the sake of the article and non-techie people, they probably just chose the biggest household name so that people would know what they were talking about.

It didn't mention recovering the funds, which means they're sitting in unnumbered, offshore bank accounts waiting to be recovered as soon as they get out of jail 😉
