Microsoft patch issue?

I wanted to ask if there have been any issues regarding an update or hotfix from MS that has impacted online video and audio lately. I've noticed delays and other issues lately with online media files that weren't happing a while ago and I wanted to ask if anyone has any info on this. Thanks.

On my personal XP box, Windows Media Player recently stopped working with online streaming video/audio. I thought it was an issue with my Server's ISA Firewall, until I was able to SUCESSFULLY play streaming videos from inside a Virtual PC on my own PC.

I went ahead and updated Windows Media Player to the latest version (11.0.5721.5145) and the problem fixed itself. A UseNet search revealed that I wasn't the only person experiencing Media Player issues recently. I have no idea what caused it, though.

Well, its not the player because I am using the same one and I'm still having the same issues. Streaming video still needs to be rebuffered often and some site audio clips wont play stating a network error has occurred. The really weird part is that I tried to open a file using Real Player and got a window with the WMP message.

Quick update: I upgraded the firmware on my router and the problems cleared up so anyone with these issues might want to try that.
