but i just can't go to the account menu. how can i add one more account?

thanks

don't know, i am the only one using this computer.

i remember this happen after i installed the XP sp1.

Ok here is the solution.

First backup your mail and mail accounts settings.

Second, Run the setup for IE6

(copy past this into windows explorer)
C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\ie6setup.exe

Third Choose reinstall all components.

Done. 🙂

back up yoor bookmarks also (just in case). i think tyhat all your mail and bookmarks will be intact but it's always good policy to backup first.

actually i 've done this several months ago.

but still doesn't work.

the last thing i haven't do is remove it and then reinstall it.

ok, let me try again...

i forgot the email folders... ?

where is the email folder and address book again?

thanks

Ok something is screwed up with your outlook express.

Try this workaround for backing up mails,

1. Restart windows in safe mode.

2. Close Outlook Express.

3. Click Start, Find, then Files or Folders.

4. In the Named box, enter *.dbx

5. In the Look in box select, or enter, your system hard drive (usually C🙂.

6. Click Find Now

7. You should now see a list of your Outlook Express mailbox files.
"Inbox.dbx", "Outbox.dbx", "Sent Items.dbx", "Deleted Items.dbx" and "Drafts.dbx". Any additional mail folders you have created in Outlook Express will be displayed with the ".dbx" extension.

8. Highlight all the mailbox files that you wish to back up and copy them to another location such as a floppy disk or an appropriately name folder.

9. Close Outlook Express

Using steps 1 - 6, above, identify where your ".dbx" files are stored in Outlook Express, and copy your backed-up e-mail folders to this directory, ensuring that you overwrite any existing files.

10. <--- Rate me in my profil 😀

edit: typo

HarryAngel, thanks for ur input.

but very unfortunately, the option remains hidden.

i still can't see the "account" button under /tools.

See that you'r login name is a member of Administrator and only administrator remove any other member of groups (if there are any) and reboot.

haha, i am the only person using this comp.

i boot up under safe mode using administrator option... but still .
