I am looking to send emails to a bunch of customers at once. Basically, I want to send the same announcement to multiple people, but I would like to address it to them specifically. All the users can be in the address book. Does anyone know how to do this? It doesn't have to be Outlook 2003, but it is beneficial not to have to use additional software.

Just to clarify, I am looking for an email to look like this, where the name is filled automatically based on the email address I am sending to:

Dear [recipient_name]:

SAME MESSAGE GOES HERE.

SAME SIGNATURE GOES HERE.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Are there mail merge capabilities within Word.

I know that letters can be printed using a standalone doc template and filling in info from a database.

I too would like this information. When I have done this in the past, I've had to blind CC all the people who got it...and they were certainly not personalized.

Like the second poster said, use the mail merge function in MS Word. It's under Tools / Letters & Mailings / Mail Merge. If you have the 2003 version (maybe even earlier versions) a wizard will come up to step you through it. Choose your data source/contact list, write your letter with the inserted merge fields (the fields you want personalized), then hit the "merge to email" button and away they go.
