So I read on some news found on news.google that Microsoft was doing something today, as well as Apple, but this thing isn't suppose to be announced until March 2nd. What is going on today?

Looks like a big PDA to me...

I've never seen a PDA that can play games like Halo, much less handle a remote desktop connection to play Halo (if in fact that is all that it does).

Anyone heard anything from Microsoft today?

Just this:

NEW YORK ? A new portable media device that allows users to listen to music, play video games, browse the Internet and jot hand-written notes is the initial vision of a product in development by Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) and its partners, the software giant said on Monday.

Microsoft acknowledged that an early version of its new hand-held PC-like device was featured in a video on the Web site for marketing firm Digital Kitchen.

Oh hell yes!

i wonder why not just wait for vista... guess the "second generation" ones will be vista based.

this oragami is seriously going to kick arse if MS does ti right. It'll be like a PSP but it'll actualyl deliver on it's promise of versatility(anyone surf the net on a psp recently?).

Hmm? I read somewhere that it would be priced around $500 (or at least under 1k)

From the ads and stuff it seems geared toward (one would assume) students who presumably aren't so well off... there were a total of zero businessmen/women in the video. Then again, that could just be your typical hipster advertising.

500 seems reasonable

1000 is too much

$500 would beat the pants off the prices of the tablet PC's running around these days...

So should we expect anything announced tomorrow or not?

CNET says there's just be more hype tomorrow, and we won't be seeing any details till the end of the month.

Looks like this product might crumble under the hype.

They just changed the date to the 9th...
That's actually really funny because I showed that video to my teacher (head of IT), then he went to the site and they had just updated it...we saw different videos...It was pretty funny, espicially when I saw that the date had changed...
How typical of MS...
