I think Office XP is a very good product - no, I don't work for Microsoft and I actually hate lots of their products. For the typical user who types a few documents a day and maybe works on a few spreadsheets, then there is little difference between '97 --> 2000 -- XP. However, with Access, quite a few developers had issues with '97 and 2000 in which the issues should have been resolved with XP.
Putting Office XP aside, Visio 2002 Professional is an awesome product. I owned the last version (Visio 2000 Enterprise) and I can appreciate all of the stencils that come with this version (Palm devices, wireless phone, Mac G4s, flat panel monitors, etc.) These new stencils allow you to create some decent diagrams. However, a few of the features from the previous Enterprise version are not present in Professional. But, there is an additional pack that is supposed to be released soon to provide these options.
