Every once in a while I run a program known as Evidence Eliminator on my Windows XP system to just clean up free space and old files.

Anyway I ran it lastnight and when I rebooted I got a pop up from Office System 2003 saying:

Installation Error: File not found

A required installation file SKU011.CAB could not be found

Orignal installation source required:

If you installed Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 from a CD, please insert the installation CD. If installed from a network browse to blah blah blah blah you get the point...

Anyway I throw in my CD "CD1" and it already knew it had been installed from CD on drive H: so I click ok and it started to act like it was going to do something then stopped and asked for the disc again, wanting the same file.

I manually browsed the WHOLE cd and even did a search for SKU011.CAB on the CD looking for even hidden files and it found nothing.

I then went into the CD and manually eye balled the contents looking for the file. There are only 3 files on the whole disc that start with SKU* and SKU011.CAB isnt one of them.

I cant make Office stop popping this up now. I cant close it, I cant cancel it. If I control, alt delete and close it out it just comes back in a few minutes.

Has anyone see this error or know why it thinks its missing this file or know where I might find info on this error?

Thanks.

I don't have Office 2003, but Google actually links to an ISO file and it seems like SKU011.CAB should be on the disc. Try uninstalling and reinstalling maybe?

I figured out what I did wrong. Had CD2 in, not CD1..

However when I put the right CD in it found SKU011.CAB, installed stuff from it then said it needed PR103368.CAB...

I found the file on the CD though so I clicked ok and it said it was still missing so I then used the Office repair feature and during the repair it had to have said 20 cabs were misssing atleast. I would just click "OK" a couple times and it would finally find the missing cab and go onto the next couple and say another was missing so I click "OK" again a couple times.. Anyway you get the idea. Seems my disc is somewhat faulty. I'll have to replace it.

Anyway its repaired now I think

I'm still wondering why Evidence Eliminator would make it say its missing SKU011.CAB I use this program alot and don't want to have it say its missing a file everytime I run EE to clean up my HDD.
