Microsoft Office 2007 Problems

So I just installed the Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate suite.
Now whenever I attempt to open any of the Office applications I get an error popping up stating that (let's use Word for an example) Microsoft Word has not been installed for the current user.
I've crawled through forums for hours now.
Changed .exe permissions and such but no luck as of yet.

I would very much appreciate any help or suggestions that you may be able to offer!

It might happen because of a update to MS Office 2007. Try and entirely uninstall MS Office 2007 first and then re-install it. This time though, stop all the updates to Office 2007 from being installed and see if it's working.

No updates were installing. It's Office SP1.
