Microsoft Natural Keyboard keeps going into all caps...

I've had this problem now on different computers with different Microsoft Natural Keyboards, under a few different OS's (2k/Me/NT4), and can't figure out for the life of me what it is. Sometimes the keyboard will randomly turn all caps on, and you can't turn it off. Since the problem has reoccured across several different situations, I'm really stumped. You need to reboot the computer to get functionality back to the keyboard.

Any ideas?

Could this be the keyboard??? I had almost similar problem like you and what I did was flip back the keyboard and tried to shake it a few times and it went back to normal. I think the keyboard maybe dirty or something. Hope that help.

Happened with several different keyboards? Are you hooking this keyboard up via USB or PS/2? I know some of the Natural's have built in USB hubs like mine and can operate solely on USB so just curious. If it's happened with several keyboards, maybe it's a certain key combination you hit and don't realize it, that's coded into the keyboard itself? I don't know, very strange situation. Has this happened at more than one house? Power surges in your house if not? Very strange..

mine does that, but i if you just hit shift then it goes off, it's strange. =P

did you check the keyboard properties in the control panel? Last time I had problem because the language was set to french. Hopefully this can help you

its the shift key getting stuck. I have several MS Natural Elites and they ALL do this after they are used for some time. Jsut smack the SHIFT key and it wil work again. That is until it locks again...
