Microsoft Live Foldershare

Microsoft has somewhat-recently released Windows Live Foldershare (beta) to share files across various PCs. In a nutshell, by simply supplying the correct username/password, you have access to ALL files on the host system.

Obviously a hugemongous security concern!

Anybody know any details about how it works and how secure it is (assuming you have a rock-solid password)? The help files state:

FolderShare beta is a secure peer-to-peer network (Two or more computers that share a direct connection.) . Only you and your invited members can view or access files in your FolderShare beta library. To ensure privacy, FolderShare beta encrypts all files exchanged over the network using AES (Advanced encryption standard. An algorithm used for securing data transferred over the Internet.) and SSL (Secure Sockets Layer. An encryption format that helps keep information secure while it is sent across the Internet.) , and authenticates files using RSA (A cryptographic technology that is the industry standard for the highest-quality encryption, especially for data sent over the Internet. The acronym stands for Rivest, Shamir, and Adelman, the inventors of the technique.).

That's all well and good, but I'd rather trust people who know real stuff than trust the marketing fluff text in the help files. 🙂
