microsoft keyboard question

I just got a Microsoft Internet Keyboard (normally I wouldn't use one but I was in an emergency need of a keyboard) that has special program launching buttons on it. Anyway, I run WinMe and the special buttons work fine in WinMe without installing the keyboard software. Does anyone know why this is?

 
haha shooter..... I figured that part out for myself, I am curious for more info about it though. Like is it possible to stop the software from starting up, and where does it launch from.
 
Go to the microsoft website and download "itproeng" its 19 mbs though...thats what you need...
