Microsoft Internet Pro Keyboard

I have an internet pro keyboard with the 2 USB ports on the keyboard. I want to use my USB ZIP 250 on those ports. How the heck does it work? I plug it in but nothing. Are the ports only for mouses or what?

If I am not mistaken that zip drive is USB bus powered (it does not have it's own plug).

Keyboard hubs draw power from the USB port which means that they can only power devices up to 100ma per port on the back of the keyboard. The zip drive will probably be a 500ma device so it just ain't gonna work. You will need to plug it into a powered hub or directly into a port on the motherboard.

The things you can plug into the kayboard usb ports are self powered scanners, mice, printers, powered USB hubs etc, anything that requires less than 100ma.
