Hey, I have this problem with my optical mouse where the light shuts off and then once it turns back on I can't use the side buttons anymore. Does anyone know how this is fixed?
 
The light on mine goes off when the PC is left idle - does yours go off when you are actually using it?

Have you tried it on the another USB port on your machine? Have you tried it on another machine?

It could be that 1) the mouse is faulty or 2) the USB ports are not getting enough power. Is your machine overclocked?

 
It goes off when I'm using it. It's on the usb port on my microsoft keyboard...I'm going to try out the usb port on my motherboard. It's not overclocked...
