I have a Microsoft Habu mouse I got for Christmas. All of the sudden it is randomly losing it's connection to the computer and the OS detects that there is no mouse, and then that it is back again. I'm running windows XP and have switched the USB port the mouse is on. It has the latest drivers and firmware. Any other advice?

Firmware will do this. Do you remember which port you originally put it in?

Mine just started doing this. WTF. It randomly stops working. Changing USB ports doesn't help. I uninstalled all Razer software last night and it fixed it till I restarted. Now same old thing

I contacted Razer and they bounced me over to M$, who (four days later) said they would send me a replacement mouse for free.

I've fallen in love with the G5 I bought in the meantime, so the Habu will be going to a friend I think.

This usually happens when a bus-powered USB device is right on the edge of the power budget for this.

Well, I feel I need to res this long-dead thread. Microsoft RMA'd my first Habu, and I got one with a manufacture date of Jan 2007. I returned the G5, and went back to the new Habu.. Well, that Habu is starting to die. I've sent Microsoft another, angrier, email, and when that mouse comes in, it's going to my step dad and I'm buying a G5.

Fuck you, Microsoft. You can write buggy OS's, monopolize everything, and force updates down people's throats, but you can't make a fucking gaming mouse to save your domain registry.

I have read many reviews about the Habu and how it does not last and how it has this exact issue of disconnecting and reconnecting because of the way they manufactured this mouse. Sorry, It looks cool but the reason I did not go with it was because of these reviews, just poor manufacturing on MS's part it's a shame they did not do any quality testing or at least studied returned mice to find out what they could do to make it better in the factory.
