I wonder how much money was spent on developing the GA stuff... imagine all the meetings and conferences that went on for it. With the simple workaround, a few people must be Genuinely Embarrassed.

most of you are missing the point (and ignoring those that pointed it out to you). MS KNOWS that it will "always" be hacked and can't stop those that "know"... patches have been available for download LONG before this whole GA thing kicked in and will be there long after... but with GA, MS can stop the casual illegal copies being tossed around and certainly account for the vast majority of their losses. Not to mention it helps unscrupulous companies who sell PCs from selling them with illegal OS installed (as the customers will be screwed out of the box) Again, a win for MS....

Please, stop your ignorant and knee-jerk MS bashing until you actually think about the situation.

yeah i just tried. The first time it actually downloaded the WGA update and then i tried it again and it wanted to validate and then i ran the option and it went past it.

I'm sure Microsoft will fix it and then 24hr later another hack will come out.
