I was in the market for MS Flight Simulator 2000 Pro Edition and couldn't find it for less than $49.00 (after a MIR from the manufacturer). My local Best Buy is selling it for $69.99.

I checked etoys.com and found it for $39.49 ($33.99 + 5.50 s/h). I'm new to Anandtech and am just learning my way around the differing coupons, etc. I didn't look for a coupon; I just ordered it--shipped today. I think this is a pretty good deal. If I'm lucky, the rebate coupon may be in the box I ordered. This would bring the total price down to $19.49 shipped.

I don't know if the rebate coupon will be in the box. I purchased Microsoft Flight Sim. 2000 when it first came out about a year ago. Staples had a deal where you get it and the official strategy guide for $40 and then Microsoft had their own rebate ( $10 ) for owners of previous versions. You had to send in the boxtop or manual cover, etc. If you can't find the rebate check Microsoft's site. And while your there be sure to download the patch for Flight Sim. 2000. It will make an already good sim. even better. Needless to say I've logged hundreds of flight hours on this program.

the front page of the MS Flight Sim webpage says there is a 20 rebate
and the rebate page say it's only 15 (for the pro version)

I just checked the site. It appears that they no longer carry MFSP 2000. I'm glad I ordered when I did.

if you are looking for a really good flight sim that is currently on sale from 79 to 39 take a look at www.x-plane.com...very good flight characteristics, probably the best...you can d/l and run a fully working version to test it out...
