saw this on FW and got it B&M cause staples.com oos for me.
Staples has (sku 514949)
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 - Century of Flight for 19.94

there is a $20 rebate:
here no upc needed.

Pick up a copy at the local Kearny Mesa CA Staples last night. Tag says 29.99 but in deed rung up as $19.99. Unfortunately it's the paperbox version. Was the metal tin box the professional version with extra aircrafts??

Looks good! Thanks! Read the system requirements from the box.... only wants 1.8 GB of disk space!

Remember when you were happy with a 10 meg drive? (OK, so most of you don't.....)

Paper box??? That's news to me - they all come in a metal box (it's likely inside your paper box). There are no "extra aircraft" - it's all one version (no Standard or Pro like 2000/2002).

The small print says:
"Only original coupons will be accepted."

Does the coupon have to be in the box when you buy it?

The program is the same in either case, but there are indeed two packaging types: the metal tin, and the standard cardboard software box. You do get the same aircraft with both packaging types.

Great simulator! Especially when paired with Megascenery add-ons...

since we're reviving an old thread...

CompUSA has it for $9.99 this week. If that $20 rebate works, you'll make some money.

Price match it to CompUsa Its on sale for $9.99 this week. Then send off the @20 rebate and you end up making $10 on the deal.

LInk to Compusa

Some may have a problem with giving you a PM since it has an instant rebate, but it depends how busy they are at Staples. Also no UPC is required for this deal
There is a whole thread over at FW on this also 🙂

Just bought it. 110% price match means it cost $7.99. Thank you!

(looking forward to that rebate!)

edit: just got the rebate. 20 back: my first profit-after-rebate! Thank you.

I would also like to know this question. I bought the software at CompUSA today for only $9.99 I think and I am wondering if this printed rebate will work.

Thank you.

Printed rebate will not work. I just received a letter from the rebate folks telling me that my rebate entry was refused becaused I did not submit an original form. Anyone know where I can get an original form?

Well, this throws a kink into the rebate then. Seems over at chubby wallet people are saying the rebate will work even if it's the printed one and not the original from a boxed unit. Some have already gotten the rebates back from when they were on sale at Staples around BF

Guess I'll go buy it and them call the rebate center and grill them about it.

Edit: the memeber below states that he or she received the rebate even though it was the PDF one, and so have posters at chubby wallet. So, who's telling the truth?

I bought it when it was on sale at Staples a few weeks ago, I got my rebate check on the mail this week

I printed the rebate from a PDF file

Chill man, a printed form works fine. My rebate is valid and check is coming early next month.

Just bought a copy from Pittsburgh Staples, pricematched to 7.99, even if the rebate does'nt FLY (Humor) it's still a hot deal.

I bought this from Provantage (Staples was out of stock... AGAIN).
MS was fairly quick with this rebate check. 😉

I got this yesterday from CompUSA for $9.99.

Now, how will that rebate work for this since the rebate is for $20.00? They sure are not going to pay me $20.00! Will I still be able to get something using this same rebate form?
