Microsoft Excel Template locations

I am using one of MS Excel's Purchase Order templates, and I it allows me to save the template. The location it saves the new template to is a very convulated location though. I thought I could change the directory where this .xlt was saved, like where the other templates are located (the directory ends in templates/1033), so that when I click on File->New, that new template would be an option. But for some reason it isn't.

So basically I have an .xlt file sitting right next to all these other .xlt files, and when I click on file->new I see the other templates but not the one I created. What's the deal with that?

On a side note, how would I add or change the path that excel stores as the default location for templates?

I do however see my .xlt file in the "general" tab when I click file->new, that is because the .xlt file is in that weird path that I mentioned at first. I was just wondering why it is placed there, and how excel knows to look in that path?

Thanks with this everybody.
