Anybody else is having this problem?

When I try to check my email at live.com I get:

"This webpage is not available"

Pressing the show details link produces this message:

The connection to login.live.com was interrupted.
Check your Internet connection
Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using.
Allow Chrome to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.
If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server...
Check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server: Go to the Chrome menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect "Use a proxy server for your LAN".
Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_RESET

Clicking on replies in this thread results in the same message:

"This webpage is not available"

I am running a virus scan using Bitdefender Internet Security as we speak, no detected problems so far.

Anybody?

You there will be some problem with internet connection, check the robots, routers modems and other networking devices. Various problem will occur while using the Microsoft account, you make sure that you have chosen the correct email credential and email verification has been done correctly.

Thanks, It's still not working for me this morning. I will play with this today.

I rebooted in safe mode with networking and it worked.
I restarted in normal mode and MS mail is working now???

God knows what happened.

Illl check on my laptop now, it was not working either yesterday.

I did the same procedure on the 2 laptops but I still can't get the 2 laptops to connect to outlook.com.

The main computer now gets a message like this:

"There seem to be a problem with outlook.com right now" The page also has a link that says "Try to return to outlook.com" and this works.

Probably a Microsoft server issue??????

Have you tried resetting all IE browser settings? If not go into Internet options and try this then reboot. Sometimes IE will corrupt a setting and some web pages stop working.

This problem is affecting both of my windows computers as of yesterday.

I am an IT guy and have the following notes:

* login.live.com fails with ERR_CONNECTION_RESET on IE and Chrome from Windows 7 and 8
* login.live.com works properly from all browsers ON MY MAC AND ON MY ANDROID PHONE
* It's not my network or router: I took both computers across town and connected to a business network with a different ISP and had the exact same problem
* Access to login.live.com works in safe mode on both Windows computers
* Both Windows computers are fully up to date
* I installed MalwareBytes and ran a full scan; no malware is found (and no other symptoms of malware are present)
* I did a full Reset of IE Settings, cleared the caches of all my browsers: problem persists
* I installed a new network card in the Desktop windows computer: problem persists
* I reset the TCP/IP Stack: problem persists

I've done everything I know to do, I'm convinced this is a server-side issue. If anyone has any other ideas how to fix this, please let us all know!

I don't use IE.

My main computer is getting "This web page is not available" message now.

Thanks for letting me know. I am pretty sure it's a server side issue as well.

This did fix it somewhat for me:
From: http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/outlook.com.html#commentstop

Anyone that cannot access Outlook.com that has BitDefender installed, try the following:

- open the main Bitdefender interface and go to Settings (upper right corner)
- from there click on Privacy Control
- select the Antiphising tab
- switch to OFF the option Scan SSL
- close the Bitdefender interface and check if the issue persists

I now get this message

"Sorry, there seems to be a problem with Outlook.com right now"

But clicking on the "Try returning to outlook.com" link on the page takes me to my email.

??? wow.

OK everything is working as it should now. Thanks so much to isitdownrightnow.com and user Pete Williams.

I just sent a report to Bitdefender. Hopefully they solve this issue quickly.

Thank you!!!!!
I was having the same problem. I even went as far as to install a backup of Windows 7 I had done a couple of months ago. Problem still persisted. Then I read your post and made changes to my Bitdefender settings. Now everything works fine. Obviously a problem with Bitdefender. I think I'll go back to Webroot.

AVAST had a similar issue when they released their latest version. It was blocking a lot of SSL sites with weird errors. It took me about 15 minutes to figure it out but once I disabled their scanning on SSL sites I haven't had any issues.
