Microsoft DRM cracked

Oh yeah, the big part of this is that it works for video files. But I guess it would work for WMA files too.

The proggy apparently works by using a debugger to run Windows Media Player, and monitoring what WMP does. When some encryption key is sent to WMP to decode the file, the debugger steals it and records it. Then, using that key, another program decrypts the WMV to strip the copy protection.

according to all the google sites this is old news and no longer works...at least the ones i could find 🙁

good, if u pay for something they should just lay off.
Don't you know its standard for them to treat everyone as if they're a criminal thereby creating "elaborate" and expensive protection schemes and rolling the costs onto the consumers?

the problem is people share, when its you the only one thats suppose to use the music you pay for.
So does this mean that when I buy a CD/DVD, other people can't listen/watch it?

If napster a-holes didn't include DRM+had flac audio files, I would use the service but because they don't, I will never use it. I don't want these stupid companies limiting how I use my music so I'm going to tell them to screw off.

When you download DRM content it's copying is restricted. So say you d/l "all the mp3s to fill you portable player" you can crack that content so you can copy it anywhere you want.

DRM is anti-fair use.
