Has anyone utilized this dreamspark.com ? It seems to good to be true, and maybe some who has used it can shed some light on it. Does it run our when you are done with school?
 
Used it, works great. as for the length, not sure. I never got around to reading the fine print. My school wasn't on the list but after jumping through the hoops to be validated it worked.
 
Got Server 2003, Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2008.

The licenses do not expire, but I believe you're required to update your status as a student once a year. If you graduate and are no longer a student you will not be able to download new products they add to the Dreamspark promotion.
 
I got MS Windows Server 2008 and VS2008 from there. Be careful if you run Server2008, if you enable certain features it reverts to a trial license and eventually locks you out of the OS, super annoying. I guess its a great way for students to learn about the "gotchas"I of proprietary closed source software business models. I ended up wiping it and use ubuntu server instead. I might put 2k8 in a VM, VS2008 is a pretty generous offering it would seem until you read the license. You arent allowed to use it to make money in any way. I'm not sure how they would find out though.

what features did you enable on server 2008 that reverted it to a trial version? I like using dreamspark, but wish they offer the options to download the 64bit versions of server 2008 and server 2003.

What features are these? I've been running Windows Server 2008 using my Dreamspark license for a year without any problems, and I'm pretty sure I've used most of the features offered in the OS at some point or another.

I can't remember exactly, it gave me a warning 60 days before expiration of some feature and that I needed to run setup again to remove the feature. I think it was something I was playing with that upgraded it to Datacenter Edition, which would have required a different key, possibly something to do with DFS, or some feature of Enterprise edition. Sorry I don't recall exactly but I was using it as a headless file server after invalidating the dreamspark/Standard Edition key when the time lapsed so I didn't get the warnings. It wasn't my main computer at the time so I didn't notice till it was too late.
