Microsoft does not respect your Hidden Updates.

I'm running Win7 64-Bit Ultimate SP1 and don't wish to update to WinX at this time so I hide GWX and Telemetry updates.

Guess what! After about a week or 2 after their monthly release of updates MS Un-Hides your blocked updates and you have to Re-Hide the same updates just about every month.

I've been going through this WinX UpDate CRAP since mid July of 2015 when WinX was introduced!

This has to be the biggest Sales Blunder MS has ever pulled off and leaning toward Linux but holding out for a conservative response from MS.

These Windows users in the MS Community pretty spells it out:

Just as long as they don't turn the more intrusion/privacy related settings back on after I turned them off or turn the bandwidth sharing thing for windows update back on after I turned it off I don't really care. I should probably check to make sure. Maybe just download some app that double checks this stuff.

If you have Win7 or 8, Microsoft is going to everything they can to get WinX on your rig so now you have to check every single Update to make sure you don't get something "free" from Redmond.

As I reinstall Windows 7 from scratch, thanks to a Win10 update crash and burn, I am only installing critical updates, no optional updates and see how that goes.

My updates are pretty far apart (about 2 months behind), though I manually check through my updates before installing, so it's a bit of a PITA.

I found updates that I know I had hidden to be installed on Win 7. I think what might have happened is that I right clicked to hide a couple updates, but failed to uncheck them. I believe that LiveUpdate went ahead to install all check KB files, hidden or otherwise.

Unfortunately the process of hiding updates is further flawed, because Microsoft hides Telemetry features (spyware) in KB files, that it otherwise identifies for other purposes.
