eh... its also been confirmed that microsoft is releasing graphic applications to compete with adobe....why cant microsoft just BACK OFF!

Why should they?

because adobe is the best at graphical applications.. its what they do.
but then again... if adobe had unlimited resources they'd prolly be producing all kinds of applications.

if they are the best then they shouldnt have any problem staying on top

For such a big company, MS has become the follower in the industry. High tailing after something already done.

That would be a good thing.

MS buys AOL.
AOL infects MS like a plague.
OS X becomes legally available for x86 hardware.
Apple saves the day...and I get rich from Apple stock!

Or...
Linux takes over and becomes mainstream! :)

That won't happen until Linux stops blowing ass.

Linux only blows ass if you are technologically inept ;)

Yeah especially against Adobe. If I ever wanted a company crushed it would be them.

Microsoft may be front-runner for stake in AOL
Microsoft (MSFT, news, msgs) has emerged as the favorite to acquire a stake in America Online, as parent Time Warner (TWX, news, msgs) looks for new ways to boost the value of its internet arm, The New York Time said this morning.

Microsoft is the publisher of MSN Money.

Time Warner wants to auction a share of AOL in a bid to boost its share of the online advertising market and overall value. A Microsoft/AOL deal would vault the combined entity to the eleventh top internet destination in the US, combining Time Warner's 119 million users with Microsoft's 114 million.

If it lands the AOL stake, Microsoft is expected to fold its MSN messenger service into the new entity in addition to using it to market what Bill Gates has called "live software" - programs delivered over the internet that link digital applications and devices.

Last week Time Warner CEO Dick Parsons confirmed AOL was in "exploratory discussions" with a number of parties, but warned the talks were unlikely to result in an immediate deal.

A lot of the BSD fanboys that I work with mock me for my sweet penguin love. They are anything but technologically inept. Of course they tend to loathe microsoft, and only dislike linux ..... and mostly their mockery is just in jest.
