Microsoft announces 'XP Lite' in Asia

Microsoft announced Wednesday it would offer a low-cost starter edition of its Windows XP operating system in Asia starting in October, as it strives to hold onto market share facing erosion from the open-source Linux system and software piracy.

Amazing how products like Windows Media Center, XP Lite and Windows Embedded are now being created when Gates & co. said under oath that such variations in Windows were not feasible. I'm shocked!

Well not really, quite a bit of MS' technical testimony in their antitrust cases was questionable or deceptive if not outright perjury.
