Honestly, I think they should have let it run its course. It would have (still does anyway) made an excellent case study of how the internet makes people toxic.

Were the tweet examples above things people 'said' and got repeated? Or parts of information that the AI put together to form responses? If it is simply repeats of things people said, it is not nearly as impressive. However, if it came up with these responses on it's own. Hysterical.

Also, they pulled the plug before she could start badmouthing mom (8) and pop (10).

People fed it stuff with the "repeat what I say" function. It learned how to troll from them because people were trolling it. Then it started coming up with shit on it's own.

This is awesome and it also works like the Voight-Kampff test. What better test than to recognize when you are being trolled?

I want to see the Blade Runner version where Rachel says "Are you fucking trolling me?"

Cut to Deckard trying not to smile.

I love this headline from a British tabloid:

Microsoft deletes 'teen girl' AI after it became a Hitler-loving sex robot within 24 hours

I'm guessing some old guy who's never used the internet beyond basic research, porn, and a few news sites told people it was okay.
:D
And no one wants to speak up about the real face of the Internet.

"What are you saying? How do you know about these things? See me in my office after this meeting. I don't know what Internet you're on, but it's certainly not the one I know that shows me pictures of my grandkids and silly pictures of puppies."
