I'm starting an IT degree and need to pass a test so I can bypass the 1 credit 100 level class teaching the basics of access. I have the program and have used it a little, but I'm not very familiar with the program.

I took the word and excel tests already and they are not very hard, but you need to really brush up on stuff so you can click right through the menus and things. You are not allowed to use any help and you can't click through menus till you find the one you are looking for.

Anyone know a good online resource or even a good manual I can go buy at a bookstore?

Thank you for the link and info I'm sure it will be helpful.

My problem however is I'm not just brushing up on Access for the test. I really haven't used it much other than some VERY basic features. I was looking for something that I could use to teach myself the program. Kind of like an online textbook or even a published textbook I could buy. I have seen some books in the library and such but was wondering if anyone had some specific recommendations.

This is the list on the website:

* brief overview of tables -- design, creating a table, field names, data types, primary key, field properties (sizes, captions, default value, decimals, input masks), wizard only (phone number or date), indexes adding & deleting fields
* input (1 or 2 records only in data sheet view to see how field properties work)
* discuss relationships briefly
* importing Access tables -- this will allow use of created tables for queries & reports
* sorting records in datasheet view
* filters
* Forms
* Exporting data and subforms queries (include more than one table, include calculated field)
* Create reports -- use wizard
* Revise reports (without wizard e.g. adding fields, etc.)

Edit- none of it sounds too hard. I do understand Excel pretty well and Access sounds very similar.

Well went to bookstore and got Step by Step Microsoft Office Access 2007. It's certified by MS and written by Steve Lambert. Has a CD and many expamples along with a CD full of practice problems. Should work out fine for what I need.
