Hello All
How does one get microsofts A+ certification? Ok, here's why I'm asking.

I'm about to retire and relocate so I figured that just to help pass the time away and get a littel extra incame I can work a local CompUSA/PCClub/Best Buy and build/troubleshoot
computers but they all require the A+ certificate.

So I presume it would be a test and it would probably cost x-amount of $$$ so where and how is this done? Thanks for replying ;)

Regards,
CA

I guess that software would be ok..but nothing replace good old experience.

True, I've built many computers and did the repair for everyone at work and around my block but to get some of the jobs like I described they want the A+ cert. so I think its a course like a semester or something like that.

So if I can get a good book to study and then take a course somewhere that it is offered where I live then I will have have a pretty good cahnce to pass the test the first time around :)

Best Regards,
CA

I hope your link is wrong. Your link is to the fourth edition, but the latest is the fifth edition. I ended up reading both, as I did not get ready fast enough to take the old test. There is a fair difference between the two, as the later book talks about XP and WinMe more in depth. Plus they did update the hardware portion to cover more modern ram and cpu's.

Ummm.. isn't it the CompTIA A+ test, not Microsoft?

Yes, you are right, although some people do say it the way I have it posted but it's not Microsoft at all. However, I was one of those people who said Microsoft A+ but now I am in your camp :)
